Product Ingredients

NatureFX Nourishing Conditioner includes the original discovery consisting of a herbal infusion of curative African botanicals, including:

Rooibos Extract

Used for generations by the tribal people of Southern Africa, the Aspalathus linearis - or Rooibos (pronounced "roy boss") - is one of nature's miracles. Rooibos contains 37 types of antioxidants, and is also rich in minerals such as calcium, potassium and zinc.

In a 90 day trial, the action of a lotion containing a broad spectrum rooibos extract was compared with a placebo lotion without rooibos. The trial participants were healthy men and women experiencing hair loss. At trial end, using a videotrichogramme that measures hair density and hair growth speed, the laboratory noted that a significant increase in the speed of hair growth had occurred in the participants using rooibos. The participants were next asked to fill in a questionnaire. When the results were tallied, 67 percent rated their hair loss as zero or low, 78 percent saw a low to medium improvement, 45 percent saw a low to medium re-growth of hair, and 63 percent considered their hair had become smoother and more shiny.

Menthol

Hair growth can be disrupted in areas where the scalp is inflamed. Hair can begin to grow again when scalp inflammation subsides. Menthol is an extract from peppermint oil that has soothing properties, especially for problem scalps. The cooling effects of menthol can alleviate scalp irritation and redness.

African Pygeum

Research has found that hair loss and thinning hair is attributed to Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone which is produced by the enzyme 5 alpha-reductase. African Pygeum , along with the mineral zinc can inhibit this enzyme, thereby helping prevent and reverse male pattern baldness.

Biotin

Biotin was developed by endocrinologists to reduce excessive hair loss and revitalize new hair growth. In tests conducted as many as 70% of all cases obtained results. They concluded that Biotin is a basic nutritional factor in hair growth and in the control of hair fallout.

Nettle

Nettle extract helps to speed up the metabolism of the hair follicle. Improved metabolism improves the look and feel of hair as well as growth.

Saw Palmetto

Research has found that hair loss and thinning hair is attributed to Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone which is produced by the enzyme 5 alpha-reductase. Saw Palmetto helps inhibit this enzyme, thereby helping prevent and reverse male pattern baldness.

Panthenol (Vitamin B5)

Studies have shown that topically applied Panthenol has the ability to thicken and repair damaged hair. Panthenol is a relatively small molecule that can penetrate the hair shaft and hold moisture within each hair to provide pliability from the inside and luster on the outside.

Inositol

Inositol is an antioxidant which has a protective effect on hair follicles, by protecting them from membrane damage caused by oxidized cholesterol in the scalp.

Green Tea

Green tea is packed with antioxidants. These antioxidant help repair cell damage on the skin, repairing what may have turned into wrinkles, blemishes, or other imperfections.

Also, there is now preliminary evidence that green tea may inhibit matrix metalloproteinases (MMP), the enzymes whose excessive activity contributes to age-related degradation of the skin matrix.

Rosemary

The Egyptians, Hebrews, Greeks and the Romans considered Rosemary sacred. In the Middle Ages it was used to ward off evil spirits and as a protection against the plague, while the French burnt it in hospitals during epidemics. It was extensively used by ancient healers.

In recent times we've found Rosemary has excellent toning and binding effects on loose, sagging skin, while at the same time increasing blood flow with its rubefacient action, which in turn promotes proper skin function.

It also helps to relieve skin congestion and the diuretic attributes help to reduce puffiness and swelling, resulting in firmer skin and better skin tone. Since blood circulation is improved with the use of Rosemary, nutrients are carried more effectively to skin cells and waste materials from the cells are effectively removed, resulting in a cleared complexion.

Aloe Vera

Since ancient times Aloe Vera has been used for its natural ability to fight skin irritations. Aloe Vera contains over 20 amino acids, plus minerals like magnesium and calcium. It also contains many vitamins and healthy enzymes. Simply, Aloe Vera acts as a natural hair conditioner.

Aloe Vera may curb excessive hair loss by reducing seborrhea. Seborrhea. is caused when the body produces excess amounts sebum. Seborrhea. is considered by doctors to be a mild bacterial disease and can be brought on by a number of different factors. The most common attributing factors are stress, fatigue and hormonal changes but some research suggests that genetics and environmental pollution also play a role.

Aloe Vera can also renew the follicular cycle, helping the scalp return to a physiological balance. Aloe Vera helps activate fresh growth and stimulates the growth of existing hair.

Furthermore, Aloe Vera can actually increase blood circulation to the surface of your skin, which helps speed up healing, and increases nourishment to damaged hair follicles. The active agents in Aloe Vera soften skin and help reduce itch and dryness.

Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne pepper increases peripheral blood flow, bringing nourishment to the scalp. Cayenne Pepper's acceptance as an effective medicine is supported by its official status in the Pharmacopoeias of Austria, Egypt, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Switzerland and Belgium.

Alpha Lipoic Acid

A powerful antioxidant that helps promote production of energy and regeneration which is vital in the growth of hair, skin and nails.

Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp seed oil in helps relieve dry, itchy scalp and adds shine to hair.

Ginkgo Biloba

Originally from Asia, known as the "Maidenhair Tree", Ginkgo Biloba is a very unique tree and the only existing species within the family of Ginkgoaceae.

Ginkgo biloba is known for its great revitalizing, stimulating, and firming qualities. It contains powerful antioxidants, flavonoids, polyphenols and turpenoids, that have detoxifying qualities. Found to improve circulation by helping to increase healthy blood flow to skin it helps create a healthier scalp suitable for better hair growth.

Horsetail Herb

Horsetail herb is used as an epithelial regenerator due to the presence of saponins and flavonoids in its composition. These components act to heal and renew the skin. Silica, found in the herb, has also been attributed with a stabilizing action on the conjunctive tissue, working through epithelial regeneration to strengthen this tissue.

The bio-minerals (manganese, magnesium, iron and copper) contained in Horsetail are necessary for collagen and elastin biosynthesis, while the organic silicon will link the produced collagen fibers and so help the rebuilding of skin's connective tissue. One of the most silicate-rich plants, Horsetail contains about 7% salicylic acid. Since tissue-strengthening and resistance-promoting properties (especially for the connective tissue) are ascribed to salicylic acid, horsetail extracts are an important ingredient in strengthening hair lotions.

Shae Butter

African healers have known about shea butter for thousands of years. It is almost magical in its healing effects on burns, skin conditions, ulcerated skin, stretch marks, and dryness. It contains beneficial vegetable fats that promote cell regeneration and circulation, making it a wonderful healer and rejuvenator. It also contains natural sun protection.
